Gordon Bowling Club AUTUMN CARNIVAL 2011

 

CENTURY 21 Cordeau Marshall were pleased to be able to again sponsor the 2011 Autumn Carnival at the Gordon Bowling Club.

 

After two weeks of incessant showers interspersed with rain periods, it was with great relief that we welcomed a cool but dry day for the annual CENTURY 21 Autumn Carnival. Chris, the club's greenkeeper, did a magnificent job under difficult conditions to have all three greens in good playable condition for the big event.  36 men's triples teams, representing some 26 different clubs all enjoyed a typical day of competitive bowls played in great spirit. The Gordon ladies served up a superb hot lunch that really hit the spot on such a cool day.

 

In the afternoon, 18 teams played off in the "Winners' Pool", with an eventual dead heat for most wins and shots. The winners on a countback were a Warrawee combination of Chris Wood, John Bryan and Bruce Mason, with runners-up a Gordon team of Steven Maas, Brian Levy and Kandiah Siva. The highly sought after raffle prize of a magnum of Scotch was won by Rocky Davis, last seen leaving with a large group of friends!

 

Manager of the Gordon office, John Kidd and sales agent Sarah Davis were on hand to present the winners with their trophies at the conclusion of the day's event.
